William K. Murphy

Male Player - Presented by Brian Cipolla

William has been involved in USSSA for 22 years. He has played for Foxy Lady, Demolition, Sonny’s Car Wash, National Gold, and Magic/National Gold/Cabbyshack. He has amassed a lifetime batting average of .700.

William’s greatest thrill occurred when his team won the 2008 USSSA 40 & Over World Tournament in his home state of Rhode Island. He enjoyed the chance to put together a team and play with friends…..players he had played with and against in his 20 plus years of softball. It was fulfilling for him to build a winning team with Brian Cipolla, John Willis and Jeff Silveira and many of the players that were on his “B” team during the regular season.

Some of William’s accomplishments:

William also greatly enjoys playing in Major Tournaments against big time major softball teams. Playing in Major Tournaments against players like Dirk Androff, Doug Roberson, and Ritch’s Superior, to today’s current stars like Brett Helmer and Jeff Wallace, have been great experiences.

“USSSA Softball is clearly the best game in town, the level of play gets better and better every year. USSSA Softball has afforded me the chance to travel all over the country playing a game that I love. I have met countless friends playing softball. I enjoy the way the game has evolved in my 20 plus seasons. Today the players are super athletes playing in 3 man outfields. It is not all about the home runs.”
