Director Criteria

Minimum of ten (10) years active participation in the New England USSSA Program within the state that he/she resides; An obvious record of getting paperwork, etc. in to state officials in a reasonable time frame and accurate fashion; Represents USSSA in dealings with Leagues, Umpire Groups, Other Associations, and within the community; Reports to the State Director and acts as his/her representative in that area; Actively seeks new leagues and works hard in keeping established leagues. He/She is the USSSA “go to” person in the area; Actively promotes area teams and tournaments, providing prompt and accurate tournament results to the teams and State Director, while taking advantage of the USSSA ISTS System; Is available to help the State Director in running Local, State, Regional or NIT Tournaments, as well as charitable events; Attends State and Divisional Meetings so that he/she is aware of any changes that might affect his/her area, teams and tournaments.

Male Player Criteria

Minimum of ten (10) years active participation in the New England USSSA Program; Six (6) personal awards; Combination of MVP, Golden Glove, All Tournament, etc. Minimum participation in ten (10) USSSA Tournaments held within the New England USSSA program (States, Regional, NIT, World); Participated in a minimum of three (3) World Tournaments, two of which need to be in the “B” Division or higher; Participated in a minimum of fifteen (15) National Invitational Tournaments (NIT’s), six (6) of which need to be in the “B” Division or higher; Participation in a minimum of ten (10) National or Divisional Tournaments.

 

Candidates must be in good standing with USSSA. He must possess a standard of excellence and fine qualities, displaying a winning attitude, unsurpassed achievements, commitment, passion, and most importantly, a great respect for the game of softball and each other.

Female Player Criteria

Minimum Minimum of ten (10) years active participation in the New England USSSA Program; Six (6) personal awards; combination of MVP, Golden Glove, All Tournament, etc. Minimum participation in ten (10) USSSA Tournaments held within the New England USSSA program (States, Regional, NIT, World).

Manager or Coach Criteria

Minimum of ten (10) years active participation in the New England USSSA Program, managing with outstanding ability and character; Minimum participation in seven (7) State Tournaments held within the New England USSSA program; Minimum participation in four (4) NIT / Divisional / Regional / National Tournaments held within the New England USSSA program;

 

Optional Items to be Considered:Support in USSSA charitable sponsored events (i.e. Special Olympics, MS, Community Events, Fundraisers, etc..) Provided supplementary support for USSSA Tournaments and/or community efforts (assistance in the provision of donated or discounted softballs, trophies, fields, etc…)

Special Criteria

Minimum of ten (10) years active participation in the New England USSSA Program. Optional Items to be Considered:

Served in New England USSSA as a UIC (local or state), Assignor, Director (local or state), Coach, Manager or Sponsor; Involvement on USSSA Committees (i.e. HOF Committee, Nomination Committee, Player Classification Committee, etc..) Extraordinary length of loyal service to USSSA will be considered; Support in USSSA charitable sponsored events (i.e. Special Olympics, MS, Community Events, Fundraisers, etc..); Provided supplementary support for USSSA Tournaments and/or community efforts (assistance in the provision of donated or discounted softballs, trophies, fields, etc…)

Sponsor Criteria

Minimum of ten (10) years active participation in the New England USSSA Program; Minimum participation in seven (7) State Tournaments held within the New England USSSA program; Minimum participation in four (4) NIT/Divisional/Regional/National Tournaments held within the New England USSSA program; Minimum participation in three (3) USSSA World Tournaments; Optional Items to be Considered:

Support in USSSA charitable sponsored events (i.e. Special Olympics, MS, Community Events, Fundraisers, etc..) Provided supplementary support for USSSA Tournaments and/or community efforts (assistance in the provision of donated or discounted softballs, trophies, fields, etc…)

Umpire Criteria

Minimum of ten (10) years active participation in the New England USSSA Program; Officiated in either the Men’s Major Slow Pitch World Series; the Women’s A World Series; Men’s or Women’s Fast Pitch/Modified World Series; Contributed to the New England USSSA Program as a State UIC, Area UIC or Area Assignor for a minimum of five (5) years; Because selection criteria for the Men’s World Series and Women’s A World Tournament has changed in the past few years, it may not be possible for an official to participate in the above listed World Series Tournaments. Alternative qualifications for nomination to the New England USSSA Hall of Fame in the Umpire Category would include:

Minimum of ten (10) years active participation in the New England USSSA Program; Participated in a minimum of three (3) World Tournaments, two of which need to be in the “B” Division or higher; Participated in a minimum of fifteen (15) National Invitational Tournaments (NIT’s), six (6) of which need to be in the “B” Division or higher; Participation in a minimum of ten (10) World, National or Divisional Tournaments; Participation in a minimum of fifteen (15) State Tournaments; and Contributed to the New England USSSA Program as a State UIC, Area UIC, Area Assigner, Trainer, Local Association Leadership, USSSA sponsored Volunteer Activity, for a minimum of five (5) years.
