In Ron’s words -
“My most rewarding experience by far was volunteering as an umpire at the Special Olympics. I have been fortunate to be involved in this out-standing event for 2 years. The players, coaches and parents were encouraging and I was surrounded with enthusiasm and overall joy of each participant to be involved in the Special Olympics. The sportsmanship was remarkable; everyone tried to the best of their ability and the appreciation I received at this event was amazing. I learned a lot that day from these very special athletes and look forward to volunteering at this event for years to come.”

“Umpiring the Worlds in Orlando Florida would also be a highlight in my career to this date. I had the opportunity to work with Umpires and players from several areas of our country. Three years of being involved with talented and dedicated players and umpires was an experience I will never forget. I have been a little league volunteer for 28 years. I have had the privilege of being selected to umpire home plate for the championship game at the Eastern Regional Tournament which was televised on ESPN.”

“I value my position as a USSSA Umpire. When the uniform of red and black is on I respect and take pride in it. When in my uniform I give my all to represent the position to the best of my ability. I have had the privilege of working with many umpires from all over the United States, many have become close friends. I have respect for the USSSA organization as it has moved forward in the safety of the Umpires and Players. The game of Softball is so highly competitive and very intense. With the rules USSSA has provided we have been given the tools to ensure the safety of us all.” -Ronald
