Phil Sclacter

Manager - Mike Piroh

Phil has been involved with USSSA softball for the past 18 years. He has managed Steve’s Sports since 1995. His teams have a lifetime win/loss record of 200/120.

Phil's most exciting moment in softball occurred in 1993 when his team took 5th place at the “C” National Tournament in New Jersey. This was Phil’s first real big tournament. He would later have teams that won the “D” Worlds in 1999 and the Over 40 Worlds in 2010.

Phil has had 3 great thrills in softball: Winning the “D” Worlds in 1999 and Over 40 Worlds 2010. His other was getting the game winning hit in the “C” States in 2004. Phil had to play in the “C” State Tournament because he was the 10th player.

Phil was named All Tournament Manager at the 2010 Over 40 Worlds.

Phil has had a lot of amusing times because his teammates were so much fun. One of the times that sticks out was when his pitcher, Rippen, threw a pitch overhand in the finals of the “D” Worlds and then ended up walking the batter-that was funny.

"The game of softball has been my life for 30 years. It has gotten me through a lot of hard times and given me a ton of great times. I have made so many friend and wouldn’t be where I am today without softball. USSSA has always been very classy and most competitive. JB and John Pond have always been a lot of help to me and I thank them".  - Phil Schlacter
