Orrie "Marty" Tucker

Male Player - Presented by Alan Brien

Orrie Tucker played USSSA softball for 15 years. He played on Green Acres, Golf Unlimited, Woburn A’s, Carmichael’s Tavern, Thermco Softball, Laservision and Whiting’s Auto Body. His lifetime batting average is an impressive .700.

For Orrie, the 1996 season from beginning to end was both his most ex-citing and greatest thrill in USSSA softball. The team he played on, Thermco Softball, led by Bill McCluskey, came together and won tourney after tourney. They were never out of a game and comebacks were a normal part of their season. Orrie states that he has never been part of a team that prepared better or supported each other more. The season was capped off by winning the 1996 B Worlds in Tucson, AZ.

“Winning the 1996 B Worlds in Tucson, I wanted to win for my manager, Bill McCluskey. Billy put so much time and money into having a competitive team. It was very gratifying to see my teammates so happy. They worked so hard to be champions. They deserved it.”
