Michelle has been playing softball for some 30 years , 16 of those years has been with USSSA. She has played on Fair Warning and Commotion out of Rhode Island and Diamond Queens out of Tennessee in her tenure with USSSA.

While playing for Fair Warning, the team was named Rhode Island Team of the Year in 1995 and 1997, Rhode Island Team of the Decade in 2000 and USSSA Hall of Fame Team of Distinction in 2008. Fair Warning has competed in the National Championship nearly every year since 1991.

Michelle’s most exciting time while playing in USSSA was in 2000 when she put a team together “just to have fun and play a few tournaments”. She believed they were competitive enough and decided to raise the money to go to the ‘A’ National Championship in Cocoa, Fl. They entered the tournament and were almost unstoppable. Michelle shared pitching duties and ended up pitching and beating some of their biggest rivals. She also hit .700+ for the tournament and was named to the All Tournament Team. The team Commotion ended up finishing in 2nd place in the finals to a team from Texas.

“The greatest times in USSSA softball that I can remember are many. From the pure enjoyment and love for playing the game to the people I have met through the sport, and the places softball tournaments have taken me. Many of these people including teammates and coaches I will have memories and friendships for a life-time beyond the sport of softball.

The national tournament each year was probably one of the greatest thrills for me. It gave me the chance to reconnect with old teammates from across the country and the opportunity to play and watch to see who was the ‘best of the best’. Playing at this level was like nothing else and something I always looked forward to. It gave you the spotlight to shine.” -Michelle
