John Willis

Manager - Presented by John Hickey

John has been involved with USSSA softball for the past 25 years. He has played for such teams as Beloli Heating, Marshall Bros./Zarellas, Thermco, Magic/National Gold/Abba and Magic. He has a lifetime batting average of .700. 


John's greatest thrill in softball occurred in 2008 when he and good friends John Hickey, Jeff Silveira, Kirby Murphy and Brian Cipolla organized Magic/National Gold/Abba. That team went on to win the over 40 Worlds. Two years later that team would go on to win the over 35 World tournament as well. 


John has won several individual awards including 8 national and State All-Tournament teams, 4 All-World teams and 10 MVP awards, including the MVP of the 2008 over 40 World Tournament.

  • 2006: RI Pub Tourney, MVP
  • 2007: New England B States, All-State Tournament Team; Over 40 World Tourney, All Tournament Team 2008: Bang for Buck, MVP; Over 40 World Tourney, All Tournament Team, MVP
  • 2009: Northeast B Regional, All Tournament Team 2010: Leoming, MVP; Granite State, MVP; Massachusetts C State, MVP;​ over 40 World Tourney, All Tournament Team; Over 35 World Tourney, All Tournament Team

 

In spite of these awards John is most appreciative and thankful to have played for wonderful and generous sponsors, with great teammates and against some outstanding teams and opponents.
