John Pond and USSSA seem to go hand and hand. If you participate in any USSSA programs, chances are you know John. 

Whether it’s through his association with the organization as a player of 17 years, a manager/coach for 8 years, an umpire for 15, The Massachusetts Area director for 3 or The USSSA State Director for 7 years, John has covered all the bases. 

John has served as the USSSA Northeast Divisional Vice President since the year 2000. 

On a national level, John has served on The National Planning Committee, The National Softball Committee and The National Modified Committee.
John has put forth much effort in the reorganization and rebuilding of the USSSA Northeast Division. He continues with developing new directors and rallying new people for the division. 

John has been tournament director for 12 National Championships and 4 World Championship tournaments. 

One accomplishment John deems as “The most exciting event in my career as a director was serving as the Tournament Director at the Men’s “C” World tournament in Disney.” He concludes that the best part was “It was a group effort with the NE Division umpires being a big part of the tournament.” 

John says, “I love this game and USSSA is the only organization I would ever be affiliated with. I have made many good friends throughout the country because of my association with the USSSA.”
