2013 New England USSSA Hall of Fame Team of Distinction

In 1992 the Westchester Ball Breakers began travel softball after roughly 10 years of playing local tourneys in the Westchester County, NY State area. Pat Stiso and John DeGiacomo were original WBB members and Sal Nardozzi joined them 1 week later.

After 3 successful years of winning several tournaments and being forced to move up from the C to B division (playing most of our tournaments in Vernon Ct and Long Island) the WBB changed their name to Club Rouge.

From 1995-1999 we played a national schedule with trips to Ohio, Detroit, Cincinnati, Colorado, Florida, Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island and we won an NIT in Atlanta Georgia in 1996. Club Rouge won their share of games and tournaments and clearly established themselves as one of the better teams in the NE region. Of equal importance we met outstanding individuals in the softball community men like John Hickey, John Pond and John Brandt.

After a short 8 year sabbatical we came back in 2007 as Club Rouge II and had modest success that year placing 2nd in the ASA D Worlds. In 2008 we formed Manhattan Beer. We played well for three years but never enjoyed as much success as we had in the 90's. Then an old friend and one of those outstanding gentlemen, John Hickey called and suggested I call some guy Brian Titus before the 2012 season.
I spoke to Brian briefly and he told me that he had 3 lefties-bat and throw left-and he said talk to Chris Goyette and that was how this team began approxi-mately 15 months ago.

Our new sponsor was Jammedup.com. John, Sal, Pat Stiso, Joe Fella. And Michael Boom Lewis were the players from Manhattan Beer. Brian Titus , Chris Goyette and Brian Fry were the upstate players.

Interestingly, BFry had been one of our opponents from our Club Rouge days. The upstate contingent were extremely instrumental in bringing a couple of Long Island players, who had spent 3 years competing against MBeer and mak-ing our lives miserable- Mike Walker and Dan Dunn. Shortly after the season began we added an another upstate player Jonathan Myler.

After early season success winning 2 tournaments and playing very well we had several players who had to curtail their softball commitments and consequently our play suffered. It was at the end of the season that we were able to add Robert and John Kurdy as well as Derek McIntosh to our roster.
