Over the next 7 Years she umpired in over 15 World Tournaments. She umpired in Men’s, Women’s Majors, Mixed World’s, Military World’s and Women’s B, C and D World’s in Orlando and Viera, FL as well as Columbus, OH.

Cathy has received personal recommendations from John Hart, New England Hall of Fame Director, Rick Robertson, former National Umpire in Chief and Chuck Beckwell, USSSA Director of Officials/UIC.

Cathy gave us a fun story from her umpiring experiences. She was making her first appearance in Florida at a World Tournament. In the first game of the day at 8:00, she was taking her position, and as she went into the field to make a call, she slid on the mud and went down on her back. She managed to keep her eye on the play, looked at her partner Dan Memos(USSSA NEHOF Member), who gave her the signal and she relayed the call to the teams. She stated that she got up and resumed her position and continued. She also stated that she switched to a cleated pair of shoes before her next game.

Cathy’s take on today’s game is that it is a wonderful experience when played safely with a competitive spirit and good sportsmanship. She has enjoyed traveling as an umpire and having met many people in her travels to tournaments and looks forward to doing more in her career. Lastly, she has stated that USSSA Softball has a strong presence in her state, the region and across the country.

In addition: “Cathy is a warm and caring individual who always seems to think of everyone around her when we are in our umpire group. She does all that we ask her to do, and does it with a smile. I definitely consider her an asset to your program and the National USSSA program”
