Carolyn Iannuccilli

Female Player - Presented by John Vitulli

Carolyn has been playing softball for 23 years. She has been involved in USSSA for the last 18 years. Carolyn has played for various teams including Kohler’s Hot Shots, Kohler’s Fair Warning, Kohler’s Tri-State Express, and Long Island Tides. Kohler’s Fair Warning was named Rhode Island’s USSSA Team of the Year in both 1995 and 1997 and was also named Rhode Island’s Team of the Decade for the 1990’s. Carolyn has a lifetime batting average of .600.

Carolyn describes her greatest softball thrill as finishing 2nd at the 1997 Class "A" Nationals in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Her team lost their opening game to University Firestone out of Jacksonville. The team rallied back and made it to the finals after defeating Long Island Travelers and 3 World Series teams, Virginia Belles of Petersburg Virginia, Shiva of San Francisco, and Express of Bloomington Minnesota. Once again they faced University Firestone and were defeated. It was their best finish ever at a national tournament. Carolyn felt a great sense of personal accomplishment at that tournament earning her first selection to an All-Tournament team at the national level.

Carolyn jokingly says that softball is what keeps her sane. She is grateful that USSSA continues to provide women with numerous opportunities to play slow-pitch softball at a time when the opportunities offered by other organizations have steadily diminished.

Carolyn has played in at least 12 USSSA State, National and World tournaments. Her teams placed in more than half the tournaments, including 2nd place in the Class “A” National tournament in 1997 and 5th place in the 1998 USSSA World series.
