Bill taylor

Sponsor - Presented by Keith Beloli

Bill Taylor sponsored his first Taylor Brothers softball team in 1957.

He and his two brothers, Bob & Greg, each independently sponsored teams from the late fifties through 1974. Their teams dominated Rhode Island for over two decades, winning 16 state championships and several New England Regional championships. Bill's Taylor Brothers team & his brothers Taylor Construction team merged in 1975, with Tom Delaney as the field Manager.

Taylor joined forces with Riverside Paving in 1994 as a co-sponsor which marked the beginning of his relationship with Mike Glasscock. His Riverside Paving/Taylor Brothers team won ASA Major National Championships in both 1994 & 1995.

In 1996, he began a co-sponsorship with Shen Valley. In 1996 & 1997, the Shen Valley/Taylor Brothers teams won three National Championships and were runner-ups four times. His 1996 Shen Valley/Taylor Brothers and 1998 Team TPS teams were both ranked as the consensus number one team in the season ending rankings.

He is a part of the initial sponsorship and management group that put together Team TPS for the 1998 season. He owned & managed Taylor Brothers Realty which is based in Boston.

His teams started attending the USSSA Major World Series in 1993 and his last team finished their final season in 2006, due to the early death of Bill. He has won 21 National & World Championships over the years with 4 of them coming as USSSA Champions. His teams have been ranked at the season ending from 1996 to 2006 in the top 10 with 5 of them coming in at 1st and 5 of them at 2nd.

Bill, as you can see, was a great sponsor over the many years that he was here, but he let you know he knew where he started this game and it was here in New England!! He spoke many times on how he wanted to do a lot of things with this game and bring big time softball to New England but never got the chance. He has been a great friend to many people, but he might just go down as one of the best sponsor's in the game of softball in the New England area and he deserves this induction into the Hall of Fame.
