His field performance is tremendous and has solid and consistently good umpiring skills. He is highly respected by players and coaches and the State UIC is constantly asked to have Mark on their field and receives praise for his abilities, especially on the field and player control.

Mark’s most exciting event in his career as a USSSA Umpire was in 2003 when he was selected to go the Men's B World's tournament in Orlando, Florida. Mark states this was truly an honor for him, especially when he walked onto the Major League Baseball Field at the Stadium and was introduced to the crowd.

In Mark’s own words,
“I have umpired for USSSA for 12 years, I never complain, I hustle and I respect all players, coaches and managers. When I hit the field my approach is to be fair, firm and consistent. I love the game so I try to perform the best when I am out on the field.”
